Portrait of a Lady is named after the novel by Henry James from the 1881. The perfume deals with rose note and spices in a new, modern way that varies between the oriental and chypre theme with patchouli, natural and intense, dominating the heart of the composition. Portrait of a Lady is a modern, elegant and unusual expression of the Victorian novel, its heroine, Isabel Archer, her fate and the quest for freedom. She smells of dark roses, mystical and intense.
Whether you secretly channel Henry James heroine, Isabel Archer, or you simply enjoy your own simple pleasures, Portrait of a Lady exudes sophistication without consequence. The top notes imbue Isabels own dark rose scent as well as carry an exotic blend of cinnamon, clove, raspberry, and black currant. Patchouli and sandalwood offer an earthy layer at the scents heart. Amber, benzoin, and musk balance the equation with a mystical, carnal appetite. Frederic Malle and Dominique Ropion partnered for this subtle compositions creation and 2010 launch.
