L'Orchestre Parfum
L'Orchestre Parfum is a French niche house where scent and music are deliberately intertwined. Behind it is Pierre-Constantin Gueros, a perfumer and musician whose passions were awakened after a move to Barcelona, where he worked at a leading fragrance company and met both established perfumers and creative fashion and design brands. The house describes its fragrances as made by people who love perfume and music in equal measure, scents meant to be smelled and listened to, hand-crafted and built to surprise.
The musical idea runs through the compositions themselves. Bergamot opens with brightness, woods and cedar and vetiver give structure and grain, and ambroxan and amber add a warm, resonant depth, with a thread of sweetness rounding things out. The character is contemporary and textured, each scent tuned like an instrument. Vetiver Overdrive and Ambre Cello are strong starting points, the first earthy and dry, the second warm and ambery, while Liquor BPM and The Darbouka show the house's more playful, rhythmic side. Fragrance composed the way a piece of music is.
