Francesca Bianchi
Francesca Bianchi launched her namesake house in 2016, bringing Italian roots and an Amsterdam base to artisanal perfumery. She came to scent from art publishing, taught herself the craft, and built a practice around fragrances that aim straight for feeling. Each one can take years to finish, sometimes as long as four, because she is after compositions that linger in memory rather than fade after a first whiff. The making stays close and deliberate, developed in her Amsterdam lab, blended by a small family operation in Grasse, and bottled in Milan, which keeps both the quality and the personal stamp intact.
The signature is sensual and intentionally a little raw, built on woods and amber with a powdery softness and an animalic warmth running underneath. Vetiver and sandalwood give it structure, ambergris adds skin-close depth, and bergamot keeps the opening from turning heavy. Start with Sex and the Sea, a salty animalic standout, or Angels Dust for something soft yet provocative, and reach for Etruscan Water or Lost In Heaven to go further. Bianchi makes perfume that behaves like a memory you did not know you were keeping.
