Juliette Has a Gun
Juliette Has a Gun is a French house begun in 2005 by Romano Ricci, grandson of Nina Ricci, drawing its name and spirit from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The conceit is simple and romantic. This modern Juliette is armed yet just as tender as her namesake, and the rose, the flower of love, sits at the heart of the project. Ricci built the line around that idea, treating the queen of flowers as the gift a man in love offers the woman he adores, and the house has played with that romantic premise ever since.
The signature is soft and modern, leaning on musk and woods with amber warmth and a powdery finish. Bergamot opens it with a clean citrus lift, raspberry adds a juicy brightness, neroli brings a floral freshness, and amber rounds out the base. Start with Lady Vengeance or Anyway for the house at its most characteristic, or explore Oil Fiction and Another Oud for its richer, more unexpected turns. Juliette Has a Gun makes the rose feel contemporary rather than nostalgic.
