Malbrum Parfums

Malbrum is an eclectic perfume house founded in Oslo in 2014. The brand defines itself by a deliberate contrast, setting the discipline of classical French perfumery against a distinctly Norwegian sense of joie de vivre. Its debut collection, Volume I, was created by perfumer Delphine Thierry and reads as an olfactory take on down-to-earth charm, drawing heavily on ingredients from Asia and the Orient.

The signature is warm and textured, built on woods and amber with musk and a current of warm spice. Ambrette lends a soft, musky roundness, benzoin adds resinous sweetness, and bergamot and peach keep the openings bright and fruity. Psychotrope and Shameless Seducer show the house's bolder, more sensual side, while Here Comes the Son leans warmer and Paradiso Super brings a richer finish. Malbrum proves that Scandinavian perfumery can be as characterful as anything from Paris.
