Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze
Lorenzo Villoresi is a Florentine house built around a single perfumer, Lorenzo Villoresi himself, who introduced his first fragrant line in 1990. A formative journey to the Middle East turned a private passion for spices and scent into a vocation, and on his return to Italy he began studying perfumery in earnest, researching essences and distillation. His earliest work included scented candles, pot-pourri, and room fragrances, with an early commission coming from the house of Fendi. The first pair of personal perfumes, Donna and Uomo, led to a series of single-theme scents and, later, a collection of fantasy fragrances. His work earned the Prix Francois Coty in Paris in 2006.
What sets the house apart is how it is made. Villoresi composes in a traditional, hands-on way on an upper floor of a fifteenth-century Florentine palazzo, in a room he calls his Wunderkammer, without the machinery of a marketing department. The fragrances carry that intimacy and care. Begin with Teint De Neige, a soft, powdery signature, or Sandalo for a creamy, woody warmth. These are personal compositions from one maker's hand, not products of a committee.
