Nishane is an Istanbul house founded by Mert Guzel and Murat Katran, the first niche perfume brand based in the city to win a global following. Its perfumery draws on the rooted traditions and cosmopolitan character of Istanbul, a city that has absorbed many civilizations across its history, and pairs that heritage with a modern artistic vision. Guzel came to the brand from a background in publishing and Katran from international trade, and together they built one of the most widely celebrated names in niche fragrance, working with perfumers including Cecile Zarokian, Jorge Lee, and Dominique Ropion.
