The scent begins with top notes of bergamot, lemon, and saffron. Bergamot comes from a citrus plant that grows in France. It is similar to a lemon, but it adds a spicy, floral quality. Saffron is a spice that comes from the crocus sativus flower and adds a Middle Eastern flavor to the mix. Middle notes include palo santo, ylang-ylang, and myrrh. Palo santo is also part of the citrus family, but it also carries notes of pine, mint, and lemon. Ylang-ylang is a floral scent, and myrrh brings in an earth scent reminiscent of black licorice. Vanilla, benzoin, amber, and sandalwood make up the base notes. Benzoin has a smell similar to vanilla with a medicinal finish.
