Viktor & Rolf
Viktor & Rolf is the Amsterdam-based house of designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, who met as fashion students at the Academy of the Arts in Arnhem. Both born in 1969, the pair became known for theatrical, almost performance-art runway shows and a creative partnership so close they often appear in identical outfits. Their move into fragrance felt like a natural extension of that artistry, beginning with Flowerbomb in 2004, for which they chose the name and designed the distinctive hand-grenade bottle. A men's counterpart followed, and the house has continued to favor inventive concepts and packaging.
The signature plays sweetness and powder against vanilla and florals, with a few unexpected savory turns. Vanilla anchors the base while tobacco, cinnamon, and a whisper of cumin add warmth and edge. Flowerbomb remains the explosive floral icon, seen here in the Mariage and Ruby Orchid editions, while Spicebomb Extreme delivers the spicy, smoldering masculine side and Good Fortune offers a more recent take. Like the duo's runway shows, these are scents that aim to make an entrance.
