Jacques Zolty
Jacques Zolty is a French house with roots in fashion and photography. Its founder built a career in front of and behind the camera through the late twentieth century, then fell for the island of Saint Barth while on assignment in the French Antilles. Captivated by its light and vegetation, he settled there and turned his eye toward scent, launching the brand in Gustavia in the mid-2000s. Many of its fragrances read like postcards from that resort world. In 2014 the house was acquired by Roberto Drago of Laboratorio Olfattivo, and it now sits under HIC Beauty.
With perfumers including Cecile Zarokian and Marie Duchene shaping the line, the style is warm and sun-soaked. Woods and warm spice form the backbone, lifted by aromatic herbs and a quiet sweetness that keeps things easy rather than heavy. Bright bergamot and lemon open the compositions, cardamom adds spice, and rosemary lends a Mediterranean clarity. Begin with Cubata or Ete du Cocotier, or reach for A Bientot and Crazy Belle for a more playful turn. Each one carries a trace of island living.
